For 25 years, Thrive Scholars has helped high-achieving students from low-income communities launch successful careers. We encourage students, including first-generation college students and those from high schools with limited college-preparatory resources, to apply.
We also welcome those who may not have had access to the programs and opportunities that help prepare them for college.
The minimum requirements.
Please review the typical Scholar profile below to see if our program may be a good fit for you. If so, these are the minimum requirements to be eligible to apply.
Apply to Become a Thrive Scholar- Grade — you must be enrolled as a junior in a high school in the U.S.

Eligibility
Our Scholar profile.
Our Scholars come from all walks of life, but typically have the following characteristics.
- Earn As in most or all of their classes and are highly ranked amongst their graduating class
- Take the most challenging courses at their school, including AP, IB and dual enrollment courses
- Often score 1250+ on the SAT and 26+ on the ACT (test scores not required)
- Demonstrate extracurricular leadership, family responsibility, and/or part-time work
- Are deeply curious and love learning
