There is no single definition of a Thrive Scholar. Our Scholars come from different backgrounds, communities, and life experiences, but they share one important characteristic: a desire to challenge themselves and create opportunities for the future.
When reviewing applications, we look beyond numbers to understand each student’s achievements, circumstances, and potential for success.

Academic success is an important part of every application, but grades are only one piece of the story. We’re looking for students who have challenged themselves academically, demonstrated curiosity, and taken advantage of the opportunities available at their school. Whether through advanced coursework, consistent improvement, or a strong work ethic, successful applicants show they’re ready for the academic rigor of Thrive Scholars.

Opportunity shouldn’t depend on income.
Thrive Scholars is designed to support high-achieving students from under-resourced communities or schools. Financial circumstances help us understand the context of each applicant’s journey and identify students who can benefit most from the opportunities, mentorship, and support Thrive provides.
